VL Group C Commodore

Currently for sale, this car was built to enjoy and drive. It was not constructed as a show car and regularly sees tarmac. I had a vision for this car and it exactly represents the image I had in my mind for this build. The GROUP C era represents one of the most memorable periods in Australian Motorsport history. Many fans still hang on to memories from this era as the most stirring they have. Why a VL Group C…. WHY NOT!

Build based on a 1988 VL Commodore donor car, Calais Interior, Calais Pop up headlights – Fully functional, Carburetor 5l V8 – Engine had already been rebuilt 30k previously with a mild cam, New 600 Holley, custom built stainless steel exhaust system. 2.5” twin system. Flow Master super 40 mufflers, Magna flow HI FLOW cats and tru X crossover pipe, Car converted to manual and a reconditioned Walkinshaw T5G manual gearbox installed, New ACE high performance clutch and alloy flywheel installed, Tail shaft modified to suit with new universals, Factory LSD rear end, New brake rotors and pads all round, New front calipers, New master cylinder, New Radiator, New thermo fan, New water pump, New high volume oil pump, New power steering pump, Holley air cleaner, Adjustable Coil over front suspension, Nolathane bushes all round, New tyre rod ends, Super low Kings springs (REAR), New Monroe Gas Sports Shock absorbers (REAR), Fesler 19” three piece billet alloy wheels – Custom built with specific offset for group C flares, New Yokahoma Advan Sport tyres 235/35 front and 265/35 rear, Bare metal re-spray in Formula Blue, Mongoose full alarm system with tilt sensor, alpine stereo system
